This project is a great way to get the whole family involved!
Kids will love transforming these puzzle pieces into one-of-a-kind snowflakes.
You can make multiple crafts with these pieces, scroll to see.
Supplies:
Jigsaw puzzle – $1.99 at Goodwill
Wooden Hoop – $2.99 at Goodwill
White Paint
Glue (We used hot glue)
Paint Brush
String
Get the glue ready and begin choosing similar sized pieces to glue together.
Cut the tabs off a piece to make it square for the center / backing of your snowflake and begin gluing 6 puzzle pieces around the edge.
We found a puzzle with a frosty blue backing, but you could always paint the pieces!
Choose a simple snowflake design and start painting – remember no two snowflakes are alike!
Follow the shape of the pieces for inspiration.
Once you have all of your snowflakes complete, take a moment to admire your great work!
Now that we have the snowflakes finished we can do 2 different crafts with them…
With a simple string you can glue it in a U pattern to the back of your snowflake.
After the glue settles, hang it on the tree for a unique ornament!
If you want to take it up a notch, use a circular form, like this wooden needlepoint hoop, to hang the snowflakes from.
We used string to glue them to the back of the snowflakes. A modern take on the traditional wreath.
