Corporate Alliance Program (CAP)

Purpose

The objective of the CORPORATE ALLIANCE PROGRAM is to recognize those businesses and organizations which have made a significant investment in the programs and services that Goodwill offers to people that need support.

In 2019, Goodwill partnered with over 450 employers to hire graduates from our programs.

In addition, dozens of local businesses and large corporations support Goodwill’s mission services through grants, gifts and in-kind contributions.

PREMIER partners will receive individualized recognition by having their corporate ad prominently featured on the rear doors of THREE Goodwill trailers.

Trailer ad size: 95.5″ W x 85.5″ H

Each Goodwill trailer travels an estimated 4,000 miles per year throughout Goodwill’s 15-county service area. These same trailers may also serve as an Attended Donation Station (ADS) in high-visibility locations in each of the communities Goodwill serves.

It is estimated that each trailer will generate a minimum of 800,000 impressions per year.

  • Annual print advertisement in The News Tribune recognizing all Corporate Alliance partners.
  • Special Corporate Alliance recognition on the Goodwill website, Milgard Work  Opportunity Center flat screens and in the annual report.
  • Invitations to Corporate Alliance social events.
  • Premium gifts for Corporate Alliance partners.

Annual Program Criteria

Businesses which engage with Goodwill in any ONE of the following ways will receive PREMIER PARTNER recognition:

  • Hire 15 or more Goodwill program graduates during a single calendar year
  • Job Training/Education Program Partner $15,000+
  • Event Sponsorship $15,000+
  • Retail Promotion Partner $15,000+
  • Corporate Grant $15,000+
  • In-kind Donations valued $15,000+

*Cumulative giving of $15,000 or more will qualify a business as a PREMIER Partner.

Career Catalyst Circle

Purpose

A partnership with businesses and organizations to broaden and deepen the pool of qualified job candidates pursuing careers in Advanced Manufacturing & Warehouse, Culinary & Barista and Computers & Office Skills.

Your business has the opportunity to have a direct impact on Goodwill’s vocational training programs when you become a member of the Career Catalyst Circle. Program partners benefit through access to Goodwill programs and services that will enable them to recruit prospective employees as well as assist their incumbent workforce.

Catalyst Benefits

  • Opportunity to have a representative on the Business Advisory Council (BAC) that assists in keeping the program’s curriculum current with cutting edge technologies and industry trends.
  • Opportunity to have a representative speak with program participants about your company’s corporate culture, work environment and employment benefits.
  • Opportunity to provide your new or incumbent employees with a complimentary session of Goodwill’s Career Readiness Education & Development (CRED) class at your place of business. Incumbent Worker Training

VESL

Vocational English as a Second Language

About the Program

Is your organization experiencing high turnover rates and out of control recruiting costs?

Goodwill has partnered with Clover Park Technical College to create a training program that focuses on employee engagement through ESL classes, financial literacy and enhancing workplace competencies.

Curriculum

Our unique partnership provides the following:

  • Fully customized Vocational English as a Second Language curriculum taught on location at your facility, scheduled to fit your needs; approximately 6 hours per week/10 weeks per quarter
  • Curriculum design accommodates work based needs, enhancing current employee’s abilities to communicate in English (written/verbal) around job duties, responsibilities, safety concerns and work place competencies
  • Embedded case manager in support of employees enrolled in the program, as well as other employees if desired
  • All workbooks, notebooks, class supplies and snacks are included
  • Class size 16-20 students per quarter
  • Four college quarters of instruction and support

CRED

Career Readiness Program

About the Program

This innovative 45-hour training course provides those looking for work, or to advance their career, with the skills necessary to become successful employees. Students may attend any or all classes, and will receive our Career Readiness Credential upon completion of all 45 hours of training.

Curriculum

  • Math Basics: Review of decimals, fractions and percentages
  • Computer Basics: Digital literacy instruction to include Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Career Preparation: Assess skills and abilities, create a resume and learn how to dress professionally
  • Financial Literacy: Educational funding, budget basics, credit reports and loans
  • Work Fundamentals: Time management, written and verbal communications, customer service, working with a team and conflict resolution
  • Employment Placement: Professional social media profiles, networking and mock interviews
